Wire Wraps!

So, recently I have taken time from painting to pursue a new vein of passion--wire wrapping!  A few months ago I was inspired by the most beautiful and talented Rachael, and I have been a little obsessed with this!  I have had the opportunity to sell the work at Truckee Thursdays with the generous Kara Fox!  Thanks Kara! Thanks Rachael!

Enjoy--several of these have sold, but commissions are always possible, and many more will be made since this post :)

"The Unfolding"

"The Unfolding"
Acrylic on Canvass
18" x 30"

A piece that speaks to the simultaneous unfolding of consciousness and the universe and the dynamic interplay that their interconnection brings to existence.

The physicists Niels Bohr and John Wheeler's statement helped inspire this piece, "We are tiny patches of the universe looking back at itself, creating as we go along. Instead of consciousness being a by product of the universe, consciousness is creating the universe."

Sunflower Farm

This commission had a very exciting process, as I needed learn the fibonacci sequence and how that plays into the patterns of the seed formation in sunflowers and other manifestations. Also I became more familiar with power tools and types of wood and sealant! Amazing. Now I can make outdoor signs! After hours of research and practice, this is what I came to!

2'x2' Acrylic on wood

"Fantidimensional Travel"

Heres my painting final, a real exploration into having absolutely no plan of where to start and end; just exploring the unfolding of spontaneous painting and strokes and where they take me.

Acrylic, 24" x 36"

Heres some shots of the stages:

And some close ups of the final piece

Book Illustration Chapt. 2: "Treedom"

This is done for the most part, it has a few things that need touch-ups, but I'm done with it for now. This chapter has to do with a boy who has a profound, experience with an amorphous, yet embracing and kind personality in a tree burl which beckons him on to a journey.

"Ahab's Apotheosis"

Heres a piece I did for my Moby Dick Literature class. Depicts Ahab, the Pequod, and a hint of Moby amongst many Melvillian Metaphors. On the backside of the painting in the previous post.

Into Form

Not quite done with this, not sure when/if I will so I though I might post these. Following the style of one of my most inspirational artists for me, Autumn Skye Morrison.
